Intro

Some of our customers wanted a power supply board which is compact in size and have both Regulated and unregulated Supplies.

We made this board which has best of both worlds.

Regulated Triple supply and unregulated Dual supply.

Also Bench top testing supply be made from this board for hobby electronics.

Features of Multiple output Power Supply Board

  • Regulated Supply - +5v, +15v, -15 volts DC other output voltages can also achieved depending on Voltage Regulators. 
  • Max Current  - 1.5 Ampere output current depending on regulators
  • Unregulated  supply - Capable of delivering high peak currents with low ripple.
  • High Output  -  10 Ampere Max current using GBU1010 Bridge Rectifiers
  •  Amplifier usability - can be used with any amplifier or hobby project.
  • Standard Components -  All components used are available online or at your local electronics store.  
  • No SMD components - Only through hole components used, making soldering and replacement hassle free.

Brief description of the rectifier circuit :-

                                                                         

Regulated Supply Section :-

Low voltage Transformer of 12 0 12 or 15 0 15 VAC connected to J1, the AC is rectified by Diode D1 D2 D3 D4 and filtered by capacitor C1 C2 C3 C4.


Voltage Regulator ic U1 is L7805 which gives an output of +5v DC.


Voltage Regulator ic U2 is L7812 / L7815 having output of +12v / +15v DC respectively.


Similarly U3 is Negative voltage regulator, L7912 / L7915 having output of -12v / -15v DC.


Unregulated Supply Section :-

High Voltage  AC input received at J4 is converted in to DC by Bridge Rectifier D5.

C8 C9 C10 C11 are reservoir capacitors to filter the DC and reduce ripple.
LED D9 with R1 used to indicate supply status.

  • PCB size - 92 mm x 70 mm , pcb Thickness - 1.6 mm.
  • Thickness of copper on PCB - 35 micrometer
